'Nephilistic' is adapted from the word 'Nephilim', taken from the book of Enoch; a prophet who's book is no longer found in the majority of Bibles today. Some scripts of Enoch can be found in the Aprocypha in Catholic churches, but the information remains very edited and careful in what is included. Originally, Enoch's book contained many details of Revelation; the truth of what will happen when the Apocolypse comes to earth. It also included information on the Fallen Angels (the Nephilim) - angels who were once of the orders of Thrones, Cherubim, Seraphim etc.
These angels were first called the 'Watchers', set in place by God to watch the mortal race from heaven, to make sure that humanity was thriving well and not committing any sin. Unfortunately, these Watchers (originally 20 of them) were enticed by the flesh of mankind and gave in to the tempation of it; copulating with mortal women and impregnating them. The women they impregnated gave birth to 20 sons, huge beings, who grew more and more each day. According to the book of Enoch, these sons grew so large that they ate all the food in their villages and eventually began to eat the other humans living with them. This spawned the Great Flood; God's anger at the angelic betrayal and the sins of men caused him to send an almighty tidal of water and miseyr over the earth, wiping out everyone excluding Noah and his animals. (Why Noah, I don't know - perhaps that fuck was into bestiality and God got off on that). A great argument ensued in Heaven, and Lucifer (the Morning Star, the most beautiful and favorite of all God's angels) disagreed with God's wrath, and consequently, he and the Watchers were cast down from their posts and sent to the inferno we now call Hell. Over time, their angelic beauty disappeared and they became the apparitions of the demons described by several prophets, including Enoch and King Solomon.
A fascinating topic of myth and a great source of inspiration, this community is to be used for art-based interpretations of the Fallen Ones and their attributes. Beginning in alphabetical order, the angels will be given artists to give them a face - and when those places are filled, the next set of angels will be put up.

Ok, so I want to try a project again. The one I really wanted to see everyone do last time I tried, but no one did. So, again, Fallen Self. . . All you have to do is illustrate yourself as a fallen angel, what you would look like/rule over/whatever if you were a fallen angel. Okay? Preferablly we'd like you to use your own stock of yourself, but if you havent got one, use someone elses that closely resembles you. Theres no limitations or restrictions, except I dont want any tiny canvases. I dont want huge ass ones either. If you have any questions please send a note to ~prelandra. Ill get back to you alot faster there. One more thing, make something NEW. Not something you made a while back and is allreasdy uploaded. I dont want that. You can either upload your art, send a link to me, and we will upload it to this acocunt as well, or you can send it to ~prelandra just send me a note and we'll find a way for you to send it to me, either email/aim/yahoo/messenger/website.
